Gun Charges Send The Game To Jail
The Game pleaded no contest Feb. 12 to a felony firearm charge for pointing a gun at another player during a pickup basketball game last year in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times. The rapper was sentenced in Los Angeles Superior Court to 60 days in county jail, three years formal probation and 150 hours of community service.
The Game, born Jayceon Terrell Taylor, allegedly got into an argument last Feb. 24 with a player on an opposing team during a basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex. After punching the other player, Taylor pulled a gun from his car and threatened to shoot the man, prosecutors charged.
Taylor, who pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in a school zone, is scheduled to surrender to authorities in the next week. The rap artist had also been charged with making criminal threats and of exhibiting a firearm in the presence of a peace officer. Those two other counts were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. If the two counts had not been dropped, he could have faced more than five years in state prison.
