The benefit concert celebrates the five-day "Seeds of Compassion" event centered on His Holiness the Dalai Lama, running April 11-15.
Matthews, the Dalai Lama and others will enter a dialog during the event on the role of music in helping to build cultural, racial and religious bridges and how emotions experience through music unify and ultimately serve to create global compassion.
"Seeds of Compassion" is an initiative to bring world attention to the importance of nurturing kindness and compassion, beginning with children and extending to all who touch their lives, according to a press release. The five-day public event--anchored by the Dalai Lama--will celebrate and explore opportunities for building compassion through forums and discussions compassion in action workshops, a resource fair and an interfaith/spiritually dialog.
