Beautiful South Head To America In October

The Beautiful South, which was formed by ex-Housemartins vocalist Paul Heaton and drummer David Hemmingway in 1989, has announced a North American and German tour to commence in October. The first leg of the venture will include eight U.S. club dates beginning on Oct. 19 in Washington D.C. and wrapping up at Los Angeles’ House of Blues on Oct. 28.

The group, whose last album "Quench" from 1998 went to the top of British album charts, will then head to Germany a month later to play six dates beginning in Cologne on Nov. 28.

It is not known at present whether the group is getting ready to release a new album. However, it is tipped to play a warm-up show in London before going to America.
