Rapper Choclair racked up the second highest batch of nominations, with six for his video “Let’s Ride,” and a seventh for “Rubbin'.” Former I Mother Earth rocker Edwin followed with six nominations total, four of which were for his “Alive” video and two for “And You.” Vocalist Chantal Kreviazuk, meanwhile, snagged five awards, all for her “Before You” video.
Rap act Dream Warriors and rockers Our Lady Peace [ tickets ] each scored three nominations, Dream Warriors for its “Breathe or Die” video, and Our Lady Peace for “Is Anybody Home?”
American acts Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears, ‘N Sync and Limp Bizkit also received two nominations apiece, each with one in the Best International Video Category, and a second in either the People’s Choice Favourite International Group or Artist categories.
Canadian acts with two nods apiece were: Tragically Hip, the Moffatts, Joée, Abacus featuring Naomi Nsombi, Love Inc., Prozzäk, and Saukrates
The MuchMusic Video Music Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sept. 21, and will be broadcast live.
