SXSW Performer: The Black Keys (Akron, OH)

Akron, OH's The Black Keys had already demonstrated a keen ability to rock over the course of four albums, gathering new fans with each subsequent release like a slow but inevitable steamroller; the band's Danger Mouse-produced "Attack & Release," due on April Fool's Day, might show fans that they know how to roll as well. One thing seems certain: the team of guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney are well on their way to becoming something more than just the other roots-rocking duo without a bass player on the indie scene.

Performing Wednesday, March 12 at 1 a.m. at Emo's Main Room (603 Red River St.).
