Hospital says Britney's Medical Confidentiality Violated

Britney Spears ' medical confidentiality has been breached and more than 25 employees of UCLA Medical Center face disciplinary action, according to The Associated Press. More than 13 employees are expected to be fired and 12 others, including several doctors, will be disciplined for looking at Spears' UCLA hospital records.

There is no evidence that any employee leaked or sold information about Spears, who was hospitalized in the medical center's psychiatric ward in January. However, merely looking at the confidential records is a violation of state and federal medical privacy laws and the state Department of Public Health has opened an investigation of the hospital.

The recent breach of confidentially isn't the first at UCLA Medical Center; several hospital workers were fired in 2005 after they were caught snooping in Spears' medical records following the birth of her first son, Sean Preston.
