Beck To Play Bridge School Benefit

Beck will play acoustic sets on both days of the 14th annual Bridge School Benefit concert, set for Oct. 28 and 29 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, Calif., according to Beck's official website. No other acts have been confirmed for this year's show, though Neil Young has appeared on the bill of every previous Bridge School concert.

The concert benefits The Bridge School, which was founded in 1986 by Neil Young's wife Pegi and Jim Forderer, two parents of children with severe speech and physical impairments, and Dr. Marilyn Buzolich, the founder and director of Augmentative Communications and Technology Services. The school serves severely speech-impaired children throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Beck is also scheduled to headline the Now and Zen Fest for San Francisco's Alice Radio, which will take place on Sept. 25 in Golden Gate Park. The bill also features the Go-Go's, Travis, Tonic and Dogstar.

After completing his current stint on the European festival circuit--which ends at the end of August--Beck will record a song with producer Timbaland for the movie "Moulin Rouge." The movie, to star Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor, is scheduled for a December release.

Meanwhile, a Beck duet of "Peach Pickin' Time in Georgia" with Willie Nelson will appear on a Farm Aid compilation album that is set for release in September. The song was recorded at 1997's Farm Aid show.
