Queens Of The Stone Age Set To Tour U.S.
Queens of the Stone Age has announced plans to embark on a tour of the U.S. next month, according to Interscope Records. The jaunt is set to kick off on Sept. 16 at the House of Blues in New Orleans, and will keep the band touring the States until Oct. 8.
The group spent most of its summer performing on the main stage at Ozzfest and is currently in Europe, where it is playing several festivals, including the famous Reading and Leeds festivals. While in Europe, the group is also set to play two London shows for Kerrang!, one of which is the British metal magazine's annual awards ceremony, according to the band's official website.
Queens will return to the States to play the last date of the Ozzfest tour on Sept. 2 in Devore, Calif., and is also scheduled to perform Sept. 10 at the San Diego Street Scene festival. The group was originally set to spend its fall touring with the Rage
Against the Machine and Beastie Boys’ Rhyme & Reason 2000 festival, but made its own headlining plans when that tour was postponed after Beastie Mike D suffered a severe shoulder injury.
After touring the U.S., the band will return to Europe for at least six dates in the U.K., Interscope said.
“Rated R,” the second album from Queens of the Stone Age , was released in June. The disc features the song “The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret,” which is currently No. 23 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, according to Billboard.
