DJ Spankox Releases Elvis Remix: See The Video

A DJ Spankox remix of Elvis Presley 's song, "Baby Let's Play House," was released yesterday, making it the third Presley re-mix to be released by Sony BMG in cooperation with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., according to a press release. A special limited edition CD single of the re-mix will be exclusively available in the US at Presley's Graceland in Memphis and online at shopelvis.com.

The song was recorded by Presley in 1955 at Sun Studio before he signed with RCA. Italian DJ Spankox, who first remixed the track in 2007, said he fell in love with the song "mostly" because of Presley's voice and the song's title. Spankox said he didn't really think about the true meaning of the lyrics but rather how the title, "Baby Let's Play House," relates the the music genre he plays--DJ house music.

Upon international release, the song topped the Italian single sales charts for seven consecutive weeks and held the No. 1 spot for eight weeks on Italian iTunes. Sony BMG will release a music video utilizing archival footage of Elvis from the April 1956 Dorsey Brothers Stage Show.

This re-mix was released during a year of Presley activity including four new exhibits at Graceland chronicling various milestones in his career. Spankox will appear as a speaker at the 2008 Elvis Insiders Conference in Memphis during Elvis Week in August; more information is available at elvisweek.com.
