Violent Femmes Cover Gnarls Barkley

The Violent Femmes are turning the tables on Gnarls Barkley , releasing a cover of that duo's signature track, "Crazy" on June 24; Gnarls covered the Violent Femmes' classic cut "Gone Daddy Gone" on their first album, "St. Elsewhere."

The Femmes' version of "Crazy" will be sold digitally and on limited edition light-blue vinyl through their website. "Crazy" has been covered numerous times since its 2006 release, begging the question: What will the Femmes add to make the song fresh? In a statement on the band's website, Gnarls Barkley makes this observation: "I might compare it to a calm pond. I caught my reflection in it. And I seemed to be momentarily at peace. This track sounds entirely different in the rain and supports some intriguing lilypads." Did someone say "Crazy"?
