Charts: Nelly's "Country Grammar" Hangs On To Top Spot
Nelly ’s “Country Grammar” is the top-selling album again this week, according to record company sources. Wyclef Jean ’s “The Ecleftic,” meanwhile, debuts in the Top 10 in its first week out.
“Country Grammar” has occupied the top slot on the Billboard 200 album chart for three weeks now. The debut album from the St. Louis rapper was certified on Aug. 1 by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipping over 1 million copies.
The No. 2 through No. 8 spots on the chart also remain unchanged this week, with Britney Spears ’ “Oops! … I Did It Again” hanging on to its No. 2 slot for the seventh week in row. Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP” follows at No. 3, with the compilation album “NOW That’s What I Call Music Vol. 4” at No. 4, Creed’s “Human Clay” at No. 5, 'N Sync’s “No Strings Attached at No. 6, 3 Doors Down’s “The Better Life” at No. 7 and Papa Roach’s “Infest” at No. 8.
Jean’s “Ecleftic” debuts in the No. 9 spot this week, according to Sony Music. The album is the follow-up to the Fugees member’s first solo effort “The Carnival.” “Ecleftic” features guest appearances by Earth, Wind & Fire, Mary J. Blige and professional wrestler The Rock.
Also breaking into the Top 10 for the first time this week is the “Coyote Ugly” soundtrack, which takes over the No. 10 spot from “The Nutty Professor II” soundtrack. The “Coyote Ugly” soundtrack features three songs by country singer LeAnn Rhimes, as well as tracks by Don Henley, INXS, Snap and the Charlie Daniels Band.
