Annie Lennox [ tickets ], Bryan Adams [ tickets ] and Natasha Bedingfield [ tickets ] will perform acoustic sets at the Sept. 9 "Peace One Day" celebration concert at the Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York City, according to a press release.

The concert also will feature speeches from international luminaries, and videotaped messages-of-peace from celebrities and artists including Lenny Kravitz and Jude Law.

Clips also will be shown from the new documentary, "The Day After Peace," which charts the 10-year trek to establish a Sept. 21 as an international "Day of Peace."

Proceeds from the concert, which will be filmed and broadcast globally on television, will go to assist Peace One Day's ongoing mission to raise awareness of Peace Day annually; the non-profit's mission also is to help manifest life-saving activities on that day.

Last year, citizens of 200 countries took part in Peace Day activities; in 14 of those countries, efforts were targeted towards providing life-saving activities and medical services on the day.

In Afghanistan last year, the recognition of Peace Day resulted in 1.4 million children being vaccinated against polio.

The Peace One Day non-profit was founded in 1999 by Jeremy Gilley. As a result of the effort, Sept. 21 is now officially designated by every member state of the United Nations as an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence.
