Sarah Brightman to perform at Olympic opening ceremonies

Sarah Brightman will perform the official Olympic theme song at the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 World Olympic Games in China. Brightman also performed at the closing ceremony of the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. The Aug. 8 appearance in Beijing is expected to be seen by more than 5 billion viewers, according to a press release.

Brightman will then appear Aug. 11 on The Today Show. Her television appearance precedes an upcoming 32-date North American tour which kicks off Nov. 4 at Arena Monterrey in Mexico and wraps Dec. 21 at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ.
