Though Ingrid Michaelson may not be a household name, her voice is probably familiar. Her hit song "The Way I Am," from her debut album, "Girls and Boys," took off after it was used on the 2006 season finale of "Grey's Anatomy. "

Perhaps due in part to her sudden success, Michaelson is already setting a good example by offering up her new album, "Be OK," for a very good cause. "Being one of millions with a close connection to cancer, I know I need to do my part," she said in a recent statement. A portion of the proceeds will go to Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), an initiative aimed at raising funds to accelerate cancer research.

As described by LiveDaily writer Kym Kilgore, "Be OK" is an 11-track collection of new songs and covers, and includes some live material. The release date is slated for Oct. 14 on Cabin 24 Records.

Soon many will get the chance to see and hear what all the fuss is about during her national tour, set to begin Aug. 26 in Binghamton, NY. After that fans in nearly two dozen more cities will have a chance to catch this rising star.

LiveDaily's Richard Tafoya attended Michaelson's show earlier this summer at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, and took some photos of her performance.
