Tokio Hotel , a teen foursome from Germany, is engaged in an ambitious attempt to revive glam rock for a new generation.

According to Jason Ankeny of All Music Guide, the band's August 2005 debut single, "Durch den Monsun," excited throngs of teenage girls who "quickly embraced the band with puppy-love fervor, and by the end of the month the single topped the German pop chart and its Austrian counterpart." Follow-up singles "Rette Mich" and "Der Letzte Tag" also hit No. 1 in the region.

Tokio Hotel's latest album German, "Zimmer 483" (translation "Room 483"), hit stores in 2007, and it reportedly has sold more than 600,000 copies so far. And, in an attempt to gain more of a US following, the group has released its first record in English, entitled "Scream," which includes translated versions of songs from previous German-language releases.

The quartet currently is wrapping up a monthlong US tour, playing its final show on Thursday (8/28) in Houston.
