Smashing Pumpkins ink Guitar Hero deal
Billy Corgan will appear as a character in the newest version of "Guitar Hero--Guitar Hero World Tour"--which is scheduled for a fall release. Gamers will be able to experience likeness of the Smashing Pumpkins frontman as he sings and plays guitar, or play as the rocker throughout their virtual vocal and guitar careers, according to a press release.
Additionally, the Smashing Pumpkins' song "Today," from their 1993 album "Siamese Dream," will be included on-disc with the release of GHWT, which expands the game's guitar play into a band experience with the addition of a drum kit controller, a microphone and a music creator that lets players compose, record, edit and share their own music.
Guitar Hero players also will be the first to hear the band's new single, "G.L.O.W.," which is being released as part of a three-song downloadable content pack. The three-song selection, which will be available post-launch of GHWT, also includes "1979" and "The Everlasting Gaze."
