Featured Photos: Neil Young at the Bridge School Benefit, Mountain View CA - October 28, 2007

Though Neil Young is one of the most iconic figures in American music, he's actually a Canadian citizen. Nonetheless, he's endeared himself to large swath of his adopted country (he now lives in La Honda, CA) by way of his deeply personal lyrics, signature guitar work and instantly recognizable tenor voice--as well as his commitment to helping Americans at a grass roots level.

Two of the most well-known examples of Young's philanthropy are the founding (with wife Pegi) of The Bridge School, a Northern California facility which uses advanced technology to educate children with disabilities, and his longtime participation in Farm Aid.

Farm Aid and Young's annual Bridge School Benefit concert both have been worked into Young's upcoming tour; Farm Aid happens Sept 20 in Mansfield, MA, and The Bridge School Benefit will take place in Mountain View, CA, Oct. 24 and 25. Fans will find many other opportunities to see him live, since his tour currently consists of 22 dates all across the US and Canada.
