Like most authentic artists, Brooklyn-based band TV on the Radio creates music without any set formula. The group draws inspiration from nearly every genre, with each new album showing further evolution.

Needless to say, attempts to categorize the band--which has been described as indie rock, post-punk revival, art rock, avant-garde, experimental, a cappella/doo-wop, soul, shoegaze, electro, and then some--have failed.

The good news is, folks will have many opportunities to decide for themselves. The band is now touring in support of the upcoming release "Dear Science," due out next Tuesday (9/23), playing cities across the US through early November. Among the planned stops is a Sept. 20 appearance at the 2nd annual Treasure Island Festival in San Francisco.

LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder attended TV on the Radio's set at The Virgin Festival in Baltimore, MD, last August and took photos of the performance.
