Jimmy Kimmel to host American Music Awards

Late-night talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel will again helm the annual American Music Awards ceremony, marking the late-night talk-show host's fifth time in that role.

Set to take place Nov. 23 at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater and air live on ABC, the 2008 American Music Awards will also feature performances from Pink and the Jonas Brothers , according to a press release, which went on to say that many more performers will be announced in the weeks to come.

"The AMAs reflect pop culture through music, while at the same time celebrating the fans and audiences," Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions said in a prepared statement. "We are delighted that Jimmy Kimmel will be joining us once again to MC the AMA's. Jimmy is a masterful host with incredible spontaneity and wit; audiences can expect a great night."

Added Kimmel: "I agree with Orly completely."
