Miley Cyrus celebrates sweet 16 with Disneyland bash
Miley Cyrus celebrated her 16th birthday at Disneyland Sunday (10/5) with family, friends and more than 5,000 guests, including celebrities Tyra Banks, David Archuleta and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
The California theme park was closed at 5 p.m. for the "Hannah Montana" star's party, which included a four-song performance by the teen sensation aboard a boat in the park's Rivers of America. Cyrus' father, Billy Ray Cyrus , opened for his daughter with a few songs, including his hit "Achy Breaky Heart."
Tickets for a walk down the purple carpet and admission to the soiree cost $250. The money didn't go into the Disney coffers, however; during the event, Cyrus presented her favorite charity, Youth Service America, with a check for $1 million, according to a Los Angeles Times report.
Cyrus' actual birthday is not until Nov. 23. When asked what she wanted for her birthday, Cyrus told the Associated Press, "My parents shut down Disneyland for me, so I'm good for a while." She also said her parents gave her a puppy.
