R.E.M. preps 25th anniversary edition of debut album
R.E.M. will release a remastered version of its debut full-length album, 1983's "Murmur," Nov. 25, according to a press release.
The 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of "Murmur" will feature the original album plus an additional disc with a previously unreleased concert recorded in 1983 at Larry's Hideaway in Toronto.
The 16-song live show, which was recorded three months after "Murmur"'s release, features songs from the band's debut, as well as cuts that subsequently would appear on the band's second and fourth albums, 1984's "Reckoning," and 1986's "Lifes Rich Pageant."
The "Murmur" reissue also features exclusive essays about the recording of the album by its producers, Mitch Easter and Don Dixon, and former I.R.S. label executives including Jay Boberg.
