Flamboyant Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Elton John , born Reginald Kenneth Dwight, has chosen Hercules as his middle name--a fitting moniker considering his accomplishments over the last four decades.

A quick tally: Five Grammys, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Tony, a Kennedy Center Honoree, seven consecutive No. 1 albums, 59 Top 40 singles, 200-million-plus records sold, countless tours, and four film appearances, including The Who's "Tommy." Oh--and he was knighted by the Queen of England in 1998.

Having just played a part in the recent star-studded Broadway revue "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, as well as the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Friends In Deed, Sir Elton is gearing up for a couple more months worth of "The Red Piano" shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, starting tonight (10/22), then all
throughout November, and again in the month of February.

LiveDaily photographer Tim Mosenfelder attended John's show in San Jose, CA, in the fall of 2006 and caught the pop superstar in action.
