George Strait honored as ACM Artist of the Decade
The Academy of Country Music is honoring George Strait April 6 as the Artist of the Decade during a presentation at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, according to a press release. The presentation marks the first time the Artist of the Decade award will be delivered during its own televised event.
The Strait award presentation follows the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will be broadcast live from the MGM the previous day (4/5). The Artist of the Decade show will be broadcast at a later date on CBS.
Tickets for both events will be available to the ACM's professional members and to fans who are associate members from Nov. 6-20, after which no membership is required for ticket purchase.
