Fuel Teams With Vallejo For Tour Of Northeast
Fuel plans to set out on a seven-date run through the Northeast this month to launch its forthcoming album “Something Like Human,” according to Epic Records. Tickets for the shows will be given away by local radio stations, and will also be distributed for free to fans who purchase the group’s album.
The tour--dubbed the Fan Appreciation tour--kicks off on Sept. 16 in Charlotte, N.C., followed by a Sept. 19 Philadelphia stop that coincides with the release date for the new album. Subsequent dates in New York, Massachusetts, Washington D.C. and Rhode Island are also planned, with a final show on Sept. 24 in Pittsburgh. Information about ticket distribution will be posted to the band's official website, according to Epic.
The twelve-track "Something Like Human" was produced by Ben Grosse, who has also worked with Filter and Vertical Horizon. “Hemorrhage,” the album's first single, recently hit radio stations, and was at No. 27 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Chart last week.
“Something Like Human” is the follow up to Fuel’s 1998 debut album, “Sunburn.” That disc--which spawned the hit singles “Shimmer,” “Jesus or a Gun” and “Bittersweet”--was certified platinum in May by the Recording Industry Association of American for shipping over one million copies.
Texas rock band Vallejo has been tapped to open for Fuel on the upcoming dates. Vallejo’s album “Into the New” was released on Aug. 22.
