John Rich performs for President Bush at dedication of Intrepid

John Rich performed on Veterans Day (11/11) for President Bush during a ceremony to rededicate the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 on the West side of Manhattan.

Rich performed "The Good Lord and the Man," a song about a wounded veteran, which he wrote as a tribute to his late grandfather, according to a press release. The song will appear on his upcoming solo album.

Several of Rich's castmates from the CMT reality series "Gone Country 3," including Mickey Dolenz and Sheila E, also entertained the audience, which was comprised of thousands of veterans and prestigious guests including New York State Governor David Patterson, US Senators Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton, Congressman Charles B. Rangel, and former NASA Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Scott Carpenter, among others.

The Intrepid reopened to the public Nov. 8 after a two-year, $115 million renovation and redesign.
