50 Cent pushes back CD release, adds bonus DVD

50 Cent has pushed back the release of his fourth major-label album, "Before I Self Destruct," which originally was scheduled to hit stores Dec. 9. The album, which includes a 90-minute film also titled "Before I Self Destruct," now will be released early next year.

The performer, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, also will include in the package, for a limited time, a second DVD featuring "Two Turntables and a Microphone: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay," a documentary about Jackson's late mentor and friend.

"Times are hard. Everyone is trying to make the most of what they have," Jackson said in a statement. "I want to give my fans something extra for their hard earned dollars. They'll get a free bonus when they pick up the album."

As previously reported, the film "Before I Self Destruct" is a full-length movie that Jackson wrote, directed and starred in. The film is a coming-of-age story about an inner-city youth raised by a hardworking single mother. Things take a tragic turn when his mother is gunned down and the young man, consumed by revenge, turns to a life of crime in order to support his younger brother.
