Arrest warrant issued for DMX
A bench warrant was issued in Arizona Friday (12/5) for DMX , who is facing theft, identity theft, animal abuse and drug charges stemming from three cases, according to The Arizona Republic.
A Maricopa County Superior Court judge issued a warrant for the hip-hop star's arrest after he failed to appear at pretrial conferences Friday morning. The judge also raised his bond from $25,000 to $120,000.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested in Miami in August after not reporting to another court hearing. He was extradited to Maricopa County in September and subsequently was released on bond.
DMX is facing seven animal abuse charges that stem from May and August searches of his north Phoenix home, where investigators reportedly found 17 malnourished and three dead dogs. Simmons is also facing nine drug and drug-paraphernalia charges stemming from the searches.
In July, he was charged with theft of services and taking the identity of another after allegedly providing someone else's name to avoid paying a medical bill at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale.
The performer has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
