Guitarist says Guns N' Roses may launch tour in March
Guns N' Roses may be launching a two-year tour in late March, guitarist Richard Fortus, who worked with Axl Rose on Guns' recently released album, "Chinese Democracy," said in an interview with a St. Louis newspaper.
Fortus, who played a one-night-only reunion show with his band Pale Divine in St. Louis last night (12/29), told the local media that there is a chance GN'R will stop in the city during an upcoming outing.
The last time GN'R played St. Louis, in July 1991, Rose reportedly stormed off the stage at Riverport Amphitheater because he was angry at a photographer snapping pics of him from the audience. The fans rioted, causing a lot of damage to the then-new venue.
Fortus said he and Rose have joked about a seemingly impossible return to the Gateway City. "There has been talk of us doing a Love tour, a tour of all the cities where there have been riots, and doing free shows," he said in a recent telephone interview with The Telegraph. "That might happen."
Regardless of a stop in St. Louis, Fortus said GN'R should be touring by late March.
