2008 was a banner year for LiveDaily's photography department. As part of the site's updated look, LD's photo gallery section was given a larger format and an automated slide show with a user-friendly search field. In addition, the LiveDaily homepage now features a carousel for a featured photo gallery blog, and the blog also appears on every news page.

We were thrilled to add a handful of new concert photographers during 2008, which means LiveDaily is now able to cover shows in Boston, Chicago, New York City, Miami, Tulsa, and Nashville, in addition to our longtime coverage of San Francsico and Los Angeles.

Highlights from 2008 have included images from the many music festivals around the US, including South by Southwest, Coachella, Stagecoach, Pitchfork, Bonnaroo, ACL, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Treasure Island and the Voodoo Music Experience, to name a few.

It was a very tall order narrowing down the top 100 Best Photos of 2008, but with much consideration, here are the shots--in no particular order--that made the cut.
