Legend has it that Grammy-nominated emo pop/punk band Fall Out Boy got its name from an audience member, who--after the then-unnamed band asked for suggestions--apparently shouted "Fallout Boy"--referring to Radioactive Man's sidekick played by Milhouse on "The Simpsons."

Inspired by the music of Green Day , Neurosis and Descendents , guitarist Joe Trohman and bassist Pete Wentz decided to form a band in 2001. Patrick Stump initially joined the band as the drummer, but singing ended up being a better fit, and two years later the job of drumming was handed over to Andy Hurley.

In 2005, the group had its first major hit with "From Under the Cork Tree," an album that reportedly has sold more than 2.5 million copies to date in the US. Fast forward to 2009, and Fall Out Boy is preparing to tour this spring in support of the new album "Folie a Deux."

In the fall of 2007, Fall Out Boy appeared in San Jose, CA, during "The Young Wild Things Tour," and LiveDaily photographer Tim Mosenfelder was there to get shots of guys in action.
