Formed by Washington, DC, natives in the year 2000, The Walkmen are the co-creation of players from two groups: Jonathan Fire*Eater (Paul Maroon, Walter Martin and Matt Barrick) and The Recoys (Peter Bauer and Hamilton Leithauser). Not only are The Walkmen inspired by such groups as The Pogues , The Velvet Underground , Joy Division and Pixies , they strive to achieve their sound by making a point of playing vintage instruments and recording in a converted industrial space, a studio dubbed Marcata Recording in Harlem. The Walkmen are currently on a mini tour in support of their new album "You & Me," and are scheduled to play two more shows on the itinerary. Tonight (1/23) fans can catch them in Portland, OR, and tomorrow (1/24) in Seattle, WA.

LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder attended their show in San Francisco on Wednesday and here are some photos of the band’s performance.
