Janet Jackson cancels Japan tour

Janet Jackson has canceled her upcoming tour of Japan because the outing would no longer be profitable, according to an AFP report.

"Due to the impact of the global economic crisis, she has been obliged to delay her tour," promoter Kyodo Yokohama said in a statement.

Jackson had been scheduled to perform on Feb. 14-15 in the Tokyo suburb of Saitama. She also was scheduled to play in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.

The 42-year-old pop star canceled seven dates in September and October, reportedly due to health problems.
