Washington State's own Grammy-nominated alt-rockers Death Cab for Cutie got their name from the title of a song performed by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and featured in The Beatles' film "Magical Mystery Tour." Frontman Ben Gibbard scored his first break when he was signed to Barsuk Records, based on his solo-demo-turned-debut "You Can Play These Songs with Chords" in 1997. Soon after, Gibbard recruited fellow musicians to fill out the band, and they've gone on to release six albums. "Narrow Stairs," released last spring, earned the group its first Grammy nomination. Fans can catch Death Cab For Cutie at Florida's upcoming Langerado Festival (3/7), and during a "tour" scheduled to launch April 7 in Upper Darby, PA. In October of last year, Death Cab performed at the Agganis Arena in Boston, MA, and LiveDaily's Peter Keeling was there to take photos. Here are some of his best shots.
