Briefly: Elton John, Pete Townshend, Ricky Martin, The Band, Montgomery Gentry
The Associated Press reported that Elton John walked out on a concert at the Estoril Casino in Lisbon, Portugal, on Wednesday (9/13). Though sold out, the theater was only half-full thirty minutes before showtime, and a casino spokesman speculated that that's why John left. John reportedly didn't give a reason for leaving.
MCY.com will webcast Pete Townshend 's "Lifehouse" on Oct. 18. The performance was recorded in February in London.
Ricky Martin has had to change a line in his upcoming single "She Bangs" especially for its U.K. release on Oct. 30. His label Columbia fears that the words "she blew me off" will be misinterpreted by British fans and offend them.
Capitol Records will release " The Band --Greatest Hits" on Sept. 26.
Country duo Montgomery Gentry declared that it will run for president on the Party Party ticket. According to a press release, the Party Party is pro-family farms and pro-"environmentally-sound big business."
Even the joke candidates are pandering.
"Ha ha ha. I'm just playin', ladies. You know I love you."
