With 29 years on the job, Depeche Mode has lived through plenty of fads and fashions. Despite struggles with drug addiction, band-member departures and label changes, they've managed to achieve icon status.

One of the most successful groups to hail from the UK, the band helped propel the New Wave genre when it formed in 1981, and has since sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, according to EMI. That total will soon rise with the April release of the band's 12th studio set, "Sounds of the Universe."

North American fans can see Depeche Mode live when they tour the continent in support of the forthcoming set. Meanwhile, LiveDaily photographer Tim Mosenfelder caught the group's performance at The Coachella Music Festival in 2006, and here are some of his photos.
