The Beatles join 'Rock Band' this fall
The Beatles will join the gaming ranks with the Sept. 9 worldwide release of "The Beatles: Rock Band" for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii consoles.
In the music-based game, fans will select from instruments resembling those of the British icons and play songs from their extensive catalog. A limited supply of hardware modeled after the actual instruments used by Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison will be sold separately, and will also be packaged with the gaming software in a limited-edition bundle.
"Rock Band" developer Harmonix, MTV Games and the Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd. first announced the concept last October, and revealed that the game was developed with the input of surviving Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono.
