Prince plans trio of 'Leno' gigs
Prince plans to perform for three consecutive nights on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" in support of his forthcoming new albums.
The Grammy-winning artist is scheduled to fill the musical slot March 25-27, just two days before the release of his new work. This is a first for "The Tonight Show," on which no other artist has performed more than two consecutive nights.
Prince's new studio efforts come in the form of two albums, "LOtUSFLOW3R" and "MPLSoUND," which will be bundled together with new artist Bria Valente's debut entitled "Elixer." The 3-disc collection will be sold at Target stores beginning March 29 for $11.98.
Prince will also return to "The Tonight Show" on May 28, the second-to-last evening of Leno's hosting duties on the long-running NBC show.
The announcement of the unprecedented three-night run comes just days after U2 wrapped up a five-night residency on CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" behind their chart-topping new release, "No Line on the Horizon."
