Creed extends tour into mid-October

Creed has added several dates to its current U.S. tour, which is now scheduled to run until Oct. 18, according to tour organizers. The group is touring in support of "Human Clay," which was released last September, and was recently certified six-times platinum.

The group has tacked two more stops to its Texas run, which now consists of performances on Oct. 2 in Dallas, Oct. 4 and Oct. 9 in Spring, Oct. 5 in San Antonio, Oct. 7 in Mercedes and Oct. 12 in Lubbock.

Also added to the itinerary are stops on Oct. 10 in North Little Rock, Ark., Oct. 13 in Wichita, Kan., Oct. 17 in Omaha and Oct. 18 in Oklahoma City. Tickets for the latter two dates go on sale this Saturday (9/23), according to Creed's official website.

Collective Soul and Full Devil Jacket are slated to open all of the remaining dates on Creed's tour, according to tour organizers.

In addition to its regular tour dates, Creed is also scheduled to perform at the upcoming My VH1 Awards ceremony on Nov. 30 in Los Angeles.

"Human Clay" was certified earlier this month by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 6 million copies since its release last September. The album features the band's hit "With Arms Wide Open," a special limited edition CD of which will be released next Tuesday (9/26), according to a statement on the band's website.

The limited edition "With Arms Wide Open" disc will contain three versions of the song, as well as a digital version of the band's video for the track. The release will officially launch lead singer Scott Stapp's With Arms Wide Open Foundation, which the Creed frontman founded to help promote "healthy, loving relationships between children and their families and was initially funded with a personal donation of $25,000 from Stapp," reads the statement.

Creed's record label Wind Up Records will only release 65,000 copies of the "With Arms Wide Open" CD, and $3 from the sale of each will be donated to Stapp's new foundation.
