Alt-rockers Guster [ tickets ] have lined up dates for the fourth installment of their annual environmentally friendly Campus Consciousness Tour.

The Boston-based band will kick off the outing April 7 in Worcester, MA, with 12 cities on the schedule through early May, and all but one appearance (April 22 in Austin, TX) set for a college or university campus. Dates are below.

"After the incredible student response to the first Campus Consciousness Tour in 2006, we decided to make it an annual thing," said Guster guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner in a statement. "Now in its fourth year, I am still blown away by the students' passion to make a real change on their campuses and beyond."

"After a year and a half of writing and recording, I’m excited to play music in a live setting again," added Guster frontman Ryan Miller.

Guster continues to back 2006's "Ganging Up on the Sun," along with an 8-song EP from 2007, "Satellite," which comprises live cuts and new recordings. Tracks from the album and the EP are streaming at the band's MySpace page.

The group, which has been in the studio working on a still-untitled new album, will release its next studio set on Aware/Columbia after recording its last two albums for the Reprise label. According to a December Billboard article, the band, which will preview some of its new material during the spring tour, has purchased carbon credits to offset the environmental impact of recording and distributing the forthcoming album.
