Alt-rockers Metric [ tickets ] have lined up US headlining dates ahead of the impending release of the band's fourth studio album, "Fantasies," which is due later this month.

The Canadians will first hit a few venues in their home country, including a Wednesday night (4/1) appearance in Ottawa, Ontario, before launching the US trek June 4 in Seattle. The outing will hit 13 cities over two weeks, concluding June 19 in Philadelphia. Dates are below.

The band has also mapped a two-week European trek during May. Those dates can be found at the group's MySpace page.

Metric's latest studio album, "Fantasies," is due in physical form April 14, but fans who want an early jump on hearing the set can purchase the digital version of the album through iTunes right now.

The new album, which was produced by Gavin Brown and Jimmy Shaw, and mixed by the band's Grammy-nominated friend and collaborator John O'Mahony (Coldplay, The Strokes), is Metric's first full-length effort consisting of all-new material since 2005's "Live It Out."

The video for the album's second single, "Gimme Sympathy," is streaming at the band's website, and an acoustic version of the record's first single, "Help I'm Alive," is available as a free download from the site.
