Simon and Garfunkel team for Antipodes tour

Simon and Garfunkel have confirmed they will tour Australia and New Zealand beginning June 13 in Auckland, according to a statement on the duo's website. The summer dates, which run through July 2, are the only currently confirmed shows on the 2009 calendar for the long-time musical partners.

Simon & Garfunkel , who have not visited Australia for more than 25 years, recently surprised fans with a three-song performance at New York's Beacon Theatre on Valentine's eve. The duo last toured Australia and New Zealand in 1983 on their Summer Evening Tour. Their last US and European outing was in 2004.
