Killswitch Engage joins Mayhem Festival

Killswitch Engage has been added to the main stage bill of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival news, tour dates, photos and tickets"> Mayhem Festival , joining previously announced headliners Marilyn Manson , Slayer and Bullet For My Valentine.

The 26-city trek begins July 10 outside Sacramento, CA and continues along the West Coast before heading east for a slew of Midwest shows. The amphitheater tour will touch down on the East Coast in early August and wrap things up with an Aug. 15 performance in Dallas, TX. A July 28 stop in Toronto is also planned. The full itinerary is below.

The second annual Mayhem festival will bring more than a dozen metal and hard-rock acts to major markets across the nation. In addition to the headliners, the current roster features Trivium, All That Remains, God Forbid, Cannibal Corpse, Job For a Cowboy, Behemoth, Black Dahlia Murder and Whitechapel.

Several of the scheduled bands are anticipating the release of new albums in coming weeks and are set to perform new tracks before the summer crowd. Marilyn Manson will drop "The High End of Low" May 26, marking the first collaboration with friend and bassist Twiggy Ramirez in nearly a decade. Singles "We're From America" and "Arma...geddon" can be expected at the festival.

Fans will also get a taste of new songs from Slayer's forthcoming, yet-to-be-titled album, including "Psychopathy Red," which will be released as a limited edition 7-inch vinyl as part of Record Store Day April 18. No word yet on when the full studio effort will hit shelves.

Killswitch Engage and Bullet For My Valentine have new works underway, though their releases are further down the pipeline. Killswitch Engage recently finished production on the follow-up to its 2006 release, "As Daylight Dies," while Bullet For My Valentine are currently recording new material with Don Gilmore (Linkin Park) in London, according to a press release.
