Springsteen joins Pete Seeger's 90th birthday celebration
Bruce Springsteen and a long list of fellow musicians will join together May 3 in honor of folk icon Pete Seeger 's 90th birthday.
The celebratory event will take over New York City's Madison Square Garden and feature more than 40 top-notch artists, including Springsteen, Eddie Vedder , Richie Havens , Dave Matthews , Steve Earle , Taj Mahal, Arlo Guthrie, Dar Williams, Ben Harper, Joan Baez, and more. A full list of performers can be found at the event's website.
The musicians will mark the milestone birthday of Seeger, a folk singer/songwriter and avid environmentalist whose musical career spans more than a half-century and includes writing credits for hits like "Turn, Turn, Turn" and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?"
Tickets are available to the public through Ticketmaster (LiveDaily's parent company) and range in price from $19.19 (the year Seeger was born) to $250, with the majority of seats going for $90 to commemorate his age. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, a non-profit intent on protecting and restoring New York's Hudson River. Each ticket purchased includes a one-year membership to the organization.
