Brooks & Dunn plot course for 'Cowboy Town'
Brooks & Dunn will conquer a rash of US festival dates this summer on their upcoming "Cowboy Town" tour.
The North American trek gets underway June 6 at Enterprise, AL's Bama Jam Festival and circles the country, stopping by fairs, casinos and amphitheaters in 12 US cities from coast to coast. The tour wraps up with a nine-night run of Canadian dates in mid-October. Details are below.
The US outing comes on the heels of a nearly two-week jaunt to Australia in early May, where the country duo will continue promoting their most recent release, 2007's "Cowboy Town," their 10th studio album. The record peaked at No. 13 on The Billboard 200 and produced several chart-topping singles, including "Proud of the House We Built," "Put a Girl in It" and "Cowgirls Don't Cry." The title track charted as well, spending three weeks on Billboard's Hot Country Songs list.
The pair played a part in the opening medley of the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards last Sunday, performing parts of "Play Something Country" from their 2005 album, "Hillbilly Deluxe." Brooks & Dunn vied for two ACM Awards--Top Vocal Duo and Vocal Event of the Year for "Cowgirls Don't Cry" featuring Reba McEntire--but lost both, to Sugarland and Brad Paisley respectively.
According to the Brooks & Dunn's website, the country duo will grace the stage at this year's CMA Music Festival in Nashville, which is scheduled to run from June 11-14. No word yet on which night Brooks & Dunn will perform.
