Soul singer John Legend [ tickets ] has scheduled a few mid- and late-summer dates as he continues to support his latest smash, last fall's "Evolver."

The multiple Grammy-winner has lined up the bulk of his shows in July, kicking things off with a July 3 appearance at New Orleans' Essence Music Festival. He'll follow that up with a July 5 show in Atlanta, GA, before going on to make appearances later that month in Cincinnati and Windsor, Ontario. Edging into early fall, Legend will turn up Sept. 1 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Details are included below.

The Ohio native continues to support his third studio effort, "Evolver," which surfaced last October and debuted in the Top 5 on The Billboard 200, as well as the No. 1 slot on the magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Lead single "Green Light," featuring OutKast's Andre 3000, has been making waves on the pop, R&B/hip-hop and dance charts. The tune is streaming at Legend's MySpace page.

"It's more up tempo," the singer told LiveDaily last fall while comparing "Evolver" to his previous studio releases. "The sounds are more electronic, whereas before everything people have heard from me has been pretty much organic, acoustic instruments. This one's more electronic. The beats are more driving than they were, especially on the last album [2006's 'Once Again'].

"I've done some things that I've never tried before, like 'Green Light' definitely being the [most] up-tempo song I've ever done; 'No Other Love' being the first reggae song I recorded--things like that are new and different from what I've ever done before."

In addition to Andre 3000, the record features guest stars including pop singer Brandy, Estelle and Kanye West, who also lends his skills on the production end, along with Will.I.Am and The Neptunes.

In February, Legend took home his sixth career Grammy for his performance with Al Green on "Stay With Me (By the Sea)," which won in the Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals category.
