Britney Spears stops show in Vancouver

Britney Spears fans who attended the pop princess' Wednesday (4/8) night show in Vancouver, British Columbia, were left hanging for about 30 minutes after she stopped the show due to a "ventilation issue."

According to the Vancouver Sun newspaper, Spears kicked off the show around 8:15 p.m., but walked off the stage a few songs into her set, leaving audience members wondering what the hold up was.

At around 8:45 p.m., an announcement was made that it had "become uncomfortable and unsafe for the performers, including Ms. Spears," and that the show would "resume as soon as the air around the stage is clear," the paper reported.

The crowd grew restless during the wait, and at one point began chanting "We want Britney," according to the Vancouver Sun article, which said that Spears returned to the stage at 9:05 p.m. and continued on with the show.

After the performance, Spears' camp posted the following statement at the singer's website: "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."
