New Green Day single hits airwaves this week

"Know Your Enemy," the first single from Green Day 's soon-to-be released new album, "21st Century Breakdown," will arrive at radio stations Thursday (4/16), and the video will follow next week.

Basketball fans got a sneak listen to "Know Your Enemy" last Monday (4/6) when ninety seconds of the song were used as the opening tease of CBS Sports' 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Game.

On April 24, MTV, VH1 and affiliate networks and websites will debut the music video for "Know Your Enemy," which was directed by Matthew Cullen of Motion Theory. The massive rollout will make the clip the first global cross-channel video premiere for the network, according to a press release.

The highly anticipated Butch Vig-produced "21st Century Breakdown" is Green Day's eighth studio album, and its first release since 2004's Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera "American Idiot," which debuted at No. 1 on the charts, spawned five hit singles and went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide. The new set is due in stores May 15.
