Regina Spektor readies summer release
Regina Spektor has called upon the expertise of several top producers--including Jeff Lynne--for her new album, "Far," which is scheduled to hit stores June 23, according to a press release. In addition to Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra, The Traveling Wilburys), the album features collaborations with producers Mike Elizonda (Dr. Dre, Eminem), David Kahne (Paul McCartney, The Strokes) and Garret "Jacknife" Lee (Weezer, REM).
"Far" is Spektor's first full-length release since 2006's "Begin to Hope." However, she has since been involved in several collaborations and contributed songs to a number of albums, including 2007's "Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur" and 2008's "Songs for Tibet - The Art of Peace." She also wrote and recorded "The Call" specifically for the finale sequence in "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian."
The Moscow-born singer/songwriter/pianist plans to support her new release with a world tour beginning in June.
