Briefly: Vedder, Deftones, neo-Nazis, Moby
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder opened a Ralph Nader rally in Seattle on Saturday (9/23), The Associated Press reported.
The Deftones will play a private show for a contest-winning fan and 100 others at an undisclosed L.A. club.
AP reported on a riot at a neo-Nazi concert in northern Germany in which approximately 60 people were injured. The riot began after police broke up the show with smoke bombs and tear gas. The police broke up the show because it was connected to neo-Nazi organizations that had been banned. You can do that in Germany: ban this, break up that.
Granted, Germany is banning things like neo-Nazi organizations and Scientology (insert joke here), but still, it's banning.
Moby 's song "Bodyrock" is on the soundtrack of FIFA 2001, a European soccer videogame, according to Musicstation.com. The FIFA series of games has utilized several British hits in their soundtrack, including, reportedly, Chumbawamba's "Tub Thumping." Apparently, music and sports in the U.K.--soccer, at least--aren't as mutually exclusive as they are in America.
