Dave Matthews Band offers free single
Dave Matthews Band announced via Twitter today (4/14) that fans can download the group's latest single, "Funny the Way It Is," free for the next week.
"Funny the Way It Is," the first track from the band's forthcoming June 2 release, "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King," is available via the RCA Records website.
The announcement came through this morning as a "tweet" on the social networking platform Twitter, of which both Dave Matthews (@davejmatthews) and bassist Stefan Lessard (@slessard) are big fans. The message read, "Why don't we start the day off with a little bit of new music ... Funny the Way It Is," along with a link to the free download.
"Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King" marks the band's first studio set since the death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore last summer. Guitarist Tim Reynolds returned to the studio with the band for the record--his first recording with DMB since 1998's "Before These Crowded Streets."
Dave Matthews Band will kick off a tour supporting the forthcoming album tonight (4/14) at New York City's Madison Square Garden. The expansive trek has the rock group canvassing the US through early October.
